Well, what can I say? It’s not the most original tune that has been written, but who cares when it’s the very talented and original Warren Zevon.
The mood and atmosphere is intense and it’s not without reason. The great Warren Zevon knew he was dying of cancer when he made this, and the album «The Wind» came out only two weeks before he passed away. This was his goodbye. It doesn’t get much more personal than this. How can this not be one of the tunes that changed my life?
His friend David Letterman gave a very nice and touching tribute to Warren after his death was announced.
